Hey friends. My name is Jonathan Bounds, and I'm glad you've taken the time to visit my site and take a peek at some of my thoughts. While I love to write, create and play music, and travel, my true passion is seeing people transformed from despair to hope, from bitterness to love, from darkness to light. I pastor a church in Loon Lake, Saskatchewan that sits on the border of a small town and a Cree reserve. From my experiences in this culturally diverse church, as well as my travels overseas, I have become increasingly convinced that this life that we live through Christ is bigger than any culture, nation, age, or language. Though there is plenty of tension to be found in holding this view, I believe that God's word transcends time and cultural forces and remains a source of truth, hope, and direction for anyone who would have the courage to believe it. Growing up travelling with my parents, I was blessed to be able to experience ministry in the reserves of Northern Canada, and the barangays of the Philippines, places I still have the priviledge of ministering at today.
As far as hobbies, let me just say that if I could live in the mountains, with hiking trails all around, an enormously large library with really old books, and a music studio, I may just think I was in heaven.
